Running the Race

Bucket List: Run a 1/2 marathon...DONE!!!

Yup, I did it! I ran the Inaugural (which means first ever) Tinkerbell half marathon through the Disneyland parks and Anaheim. It was actually a lot of fun!! And I did a WHOLE lot better than I expected to do, especially since the first mile or two were so crowded I was barely jogging hahaha. I just found out that my finishing time was 2 hours 15 minutes and 9 seconds. Woot woot!! For someone who doesn't consider herself a fast runner, that's pretty darn good, if you ask me! AAaaaand I was 113th out of my division (a total of 634 women. Crazy!! And 1428th out of 9386. Pretty cool :)

Anyways, the run was fun. There were a lot of spectators, a ton of runners, we got to see characters along the way and people got pictures with them, which was cool, and we even had high school bands and cheer squads and dance teams there. And even a band from the army!! It was so fun. The hardest part was when I got to mile 8 and still knew I had 5 miles left to go. But right as I got to mile 10 I was like "yeah!! only 3 more miles to go!!!" And I had another burst of adrenaline. I would actually run it again at some point in my life, but probably just for fun. I'd be one of those ridiculous people who dresses up and I'd run WITH someone so we could take pictures with the characters and at the mile markers. So it'd be more of a run/walk. But I'd be ok with that...maybe my future husband will do something like that with me someday ;)

Anyhow, I'm back to the real world now. Gotta coach 3 times a week, 4 classes, plan our wonderful wedding (oy vey) and try to find another job, part-time preferably and only in the mornings so I can still coach (yikes!). We'll see how that goes. Please pray that I'll be able to find something cuz as of right now, there's nothing. Pray for continued wisdom and discernment on both Sean's and my part, because we don't know which church he should go to and be a part of. They both have their pros and cons, so we'll see how we feel after he goes through the interview processes. But this could be one of those decisions where there's no right or wrong choice. So...yeah. Got lots to do.

My bib and Tinkerbell medal :) It's heavy
And that's life through the eyes of a stiff and sore banana munchkin.
